These repeated reminders provide us with a glimpse of his initial instruction, given during his establishment of the church (Holmberg, 70–74). That this instruction was so structured in content and so uniformly used in the early Christian mission that it can be called a catechism (Selwyn, 365–466; Dodd 1968: 11–29) is to be doubted.
